Therapy plays a pivotal role in helping an individual regain productivity and independence. A physical therapy services are provided by a licensed physical therapist, in accordance with the plan of care ordered by the patients attending physician.
A physical therapist will provide comprehensive physical therapy services/ treatments in accordance with the Plan of Care in the home including the following to restore the patient to their highest functional level of strength, range of motion, mobility and pain control:
• The use of rehabilitative techniques of exercise
• Gait training
• Ice and electrical stimulation
• Demonstrates, teaches and supervises rehabilitative procedures to the patient/ family.
The physical therapist will consult with the family, physician and staff regarding the patient’s status. Re-evaluating the patient periodically is part of basic therapy functions to ensure adequate recovery and paint the best possible picture for the primary care physician.
Services include the following:
- A loss of balance
- A fall
- Difficulty walking
- Joint pain, back pain
- Hip or knee replacement
- A stroke
- Heart failure, heart attack
- Any noticeable decline in function.
